Howdy!
So, I am alive! It’s been a busy year so far…. I started a new job in November, plus I am still teaching piano. I’m staying home this summer and working instead of going off to work at camp again. I am a little disappointed about that :o) But, you can’t live without money.
My mom had a seizure in February and got to spend a couple weeks in the hospital (of which she wasn’t too thrilled with!). It was a pretty frightening scare for a day! I think it aged me a couple years :o) She’s back to normal now.
We had special revival meetings at church with Bro. Hal Hightower (If you’ve never heard him preach, you are missing a lot!!!!! He’s good and funny!)
Otherwise, my life has been work and then more work :o) I’m looking forward to going to Guelph and St. Jacobs for a “girls only weekend” with friends next month.

Merry Christmas!
I know it’s not Christmas yet, but I probably won’t be on here again any time soon! It was my plan to update this blog every week, but I failed :o) Life’s busy and computer time is scarce!
So, for anybody out there that reads this (if anyone does!!) have a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year! May you know the true meaning of Christmas and celebrate HIS birth all year long!

Sooo…
….I thought I’d try and post a picture or two on here :o) Various pictures from various events.
Ok, they’re not uploading properly. I’ll try again later!
Our first cantata practice/read through was on Sunday. I have a part, but, alas it’s not written yet :o) It is getting written this week though! Should be fun! We might even be doing 2 performances, instead of the usual 1.
One of my old piano students is going to Bob Jones next week for the fine arts competition. I’m excited for her!! I’m sure she’ll do great.
I got my first comment on here! Thanks Aunty Paulette, I love you!!

Recipes!
I thought I’d post one of my favorite dessert/treat recipes. It’s off of my favorite site: http://allrecipes.com.
Here it is! With my changes in italics :o)
Saltine Toffee Cookies
INGREDIENTS
- 4 ounces saltine crackers (one sleeve)
- 1 cup butter (I use only around 3/4 of a cup)
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C). Line 10×15 cookie sheet with aluminum foil and spray with non-stick spray.
- Line cookie sheet with saltine crackers in single layer.
- In a saucepan combine the sugar and the butter. Bring to a complete rolling boil and then boil for 3 minutes. Immediately pour over saltines and spread to cover crackers completely.
- Bake at 400 degrees F (205 degrees C) for 5 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the top. Let sit for 5 minutes in still warm oven. Spread melted chocolate and top with chopped nuts. Cool and refrigerate until hard and then break into pieces.
Once you make it once, you won’t be able to stop :o) If you want to see a picture, go here:

Silent night…
It’s very quiet here. I’m done teaching piano for the night and Sarah’s asleep on the couch with a headache. And here I am, typing away. Or trying to think of something to say!
Sunday School conference on Saturday went well. I went to 3 different workshops and really enjoyed the one about bus ministry. Bus kids are awesome!
Then, I also went to one of my Pastor’s wife’s sessions, and it was even better! She talked about Teaching From the Overflow. How you have to already have gone through something before you can successfully teach it. You can’t really help someone if you’re struggling with the same issue or if you’re not willing to give it up.
Then, I went to one that was supposed to be about seing spiritual growth in juniors, and, alas, it was just a big promotion of JoyfulLife materials :( So disappointing! But, she did have some good tips about teaching and having control over the class. Overall, it was a good weekend, tiring (seeing as I had to get up at 5:15 to get ready to leave!) but good.
On Wednesday I’m getting my passport taken care of. Finally! I got my picture taken last week. Like the lady said, “It looks blah. That’s how they like them.” I just can’t wait till I have to show it to the border guards every week :o)

It’s raining….
It’s pouring.
Mission’s Conference was this week, with Dr. Moritz preaching. I only got to hear 3 of the messages, but it was good! This Saturday is the Sunday School Teacher’s Conference in Pontiac, MI. Sarah get’s to play for all the special music, and we’re doing a duet for the “possible” offering.
Well, time to go do some birthday shopping for my sister! In this loverly, wet, cold weather!

A new blog!
Ok, so I thought I’d give this blog thing another try! We’ll see how long this one lasts.
God’s been working on me to learn patience….. I’ve worked with kids! Shouldn’t that count for something? :o) Seems like He’s just changing my plans all around. I know what I wanted to do this Fall. Work at a certain camp. But, I’m learning to praise God even when things don’t turn out how I expected. God is good, and His mercy is everlasting and new every morning! Amen to that!
Anyways, there’s my first post on this website. What’s God been teaching you?
